DESCRIPTION:
APW - Illinois, Bunn Special, 24J, 18S, gold-filled HC recase with unusual engraving detail of a lyre with an open plain book in front, lyre with book having a small idyllic lakeside scene to rear, white enamel DS Gothic numeral dial, SW-LS, fully capped lever escapement, capped third wheel, jeweled barrel arbor, bright spotted pattern nickel damascene, s#1347865.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Ticking sluggishly, winding slipping occasionally, setting is functional in counterclockwise direction but slips out of engagement when clockwise setting is attempted, overhaul recommended, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, small patch of abrasion below balance wheel near center, few scattered small dark spots and fine to micro-fine scratches elsewhere to plates, substantial oxide to regulator assembly; dial with few scattered hls and fine surface scratches, two tiny nicks to inner edge of outer chapter between 9 and 10, scattered edge flakes under bezel; fine hands with minor oxide, finish loss to tip of minute; case shows very light wear, dent to upper-left rear shoulder near edge, few shallow dents to cuvette near shoulder, few scattered small nicks, engraving detail with mild reduction, slivers of wear to brass to raised lip at edge of front and rear, case front opens slightly wide of 90 degrees (to approximately 100 degrees); tight bow, crown shows medium wear with ridge break; good glass crystal.
